Sauk Valley Voices of Recovery (SVVOR) is a peer-led, peer-run recovery community organization serving the Sauk Valley area. Our mission is to support recovery, inspire hope, and foster connections. We work to empower individuals and families affected by substance use disorders through advocacy, education, and recovery-focused resources.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Business Administrator to join our passionate team. This non-clinical role emphasizes organizational management and bookkeeping, rooted in SAMHSA’s recovery principles. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and skilled in managing administrative processes to support the growth and sustainability of SVVOR.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Management:
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
Manage accounts payable/receivable, process payroll, and oversee budgets.
Assist with grant reporting and ensure documentation aligns with funding requirements.
Administrative Support:
Oversee office operations, including scheduling, file management, and supply inventory.
Support the Executive Director and staff in implementing organizational initiatives.
Data Management:
Maintain databases and records related to programs, finances, and community partnerships.
Assist in preparing reports and presentations for leadership and stakeholders.
Event Coordination:
Provide financial and logistical support for events, workshops, and meetings.
Manage vendor contracts and ensure smooth financial set up and execution of events.
Qualifications
Minimum of one year experience in bookkeeping, financial management, and administrative roles.
Must live in Lee, Whiteside, Ogle and DeKalb counties
Familiarity with recovery principles and a passion for supporting recovery communities.
Proficiency with QuickBooks or other bookkeeping software is highly preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
