Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (CPRS) – Senior Recovery Coach

Sauk Valley Voices of Recovery (SVVOR) is seeking a Senior Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (CPRS) to serve as the leader of our CPRS team. This full-time position combines team management and mentorship with direct peer support. The Senior Recovery Coach will oversee the CPRS team, provide guidance and support, and ensure the delivery of high-quality peer recovery services while also assisting with direct services as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Oversight:
Supervise, mentor, and support CPRS Recovery Coaches.
Provide guidance and oversight to ensure consistency and quality of peer support services.
Assist with onboarding and training new CPRS team members.
Organize and lead team meetings to share updates, review cases, and develop recovery strategies.
Program Coordination:
Collaborate with SVVOR leadership to implement and enhance recovery-focused programs.
Track program outcomes and provide reports to leadership as needed.
Ensure CPRS team adherence to organizational policies and recovery best practices.
Direct Peer Support:
Provide individual and group peer recovery coaching as needed.
Collaborate with peers to develop recovery plans tailored to their goals and needs.
Facilitate access to community resources, treatment programs, and recovery support services.
Maintain accurate documentation of peer interactions, referrals, and progress.
Community Advocacy and Outreach:
Represent SVVOR at community events, partner meetings, and professional collaborations.
Advocate for recovery services and educate the community on available resources.
Requirements
Lived Experience in Recovery: Minimum of 1 consecutive year in recovery from substance use disorder working a recovery program.
Education/Certification: CRSS or CPRS certification required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Skills and Qualities:
Strong belief in recovery and optimism for peer success.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of diverse recovery pathways and a commitment to supporting all.
